Bob,
there are simply
no words
to express what your friendship has meant to me.
But I'll try.
Leaving life…
the time comes for us all;
finished or unfinished,
ready or not.
But if we can move on
with the satisfaction
of knowing
we've made the world a better place,
then we can move on
without regrets.
You, Bob, have done this.
Youhave made
the world
a better place.
You gave the world your deeds.
Your deeds
boggle both
minds and hearts.
You gave the world your words.
Your words
engage both
minds and hearts.
You gave the world your family.
Your family
touches
minds and…
most especially…
hearts.
Minds and hearts.
Are these not the things that
make the world a better place?
Yep. You, Bob, have done this.
Semper fi.
Thanks, dear friend,
Nan

Nan, this is awesome. He would love it! I love the picture you chose, too. I hope you don't mind if I add it to my Bob tribute links. Dang, I miss him already so much. But he'll never really be gone, will he? Thank you, dear Nan.
Nan,
So well said. Boy, it hurts, doesn't it? I'm still trying to come to terms...
Nan, such a beautiful tribute. I'm especially glad that we got them to him while he could appreciate them.
Hi Nan,
New to Word Catalyst, I didn't have a chance to get to know Bob the way you all did! From what I read he was quite a writer! Your poem was beautiful, and I'm sure he was so proud to have such wonder writer friends!
The good news is, Bob *did* see this, in his special birthday edition of WCM's "Inclinations".
Thank you all for *your* contributions to making the world a better place.
Hugs to all who miss him.
:) Thanks, Nan. Your right. Dad did make this world a better place. He instilled in his family an unconditional, heartfelt love, enduring time. He has never left us before.... He wont start now. I beleive this. :) Smiles! Kim
Also, Nan, if you didnt already know, this picture was taken when Dad was away working in Libya. Blake and I stayed with Louise... I'll never forget seeing it for the first time... They told me Dad was holding the world up....this picture is one of the most priceless pictures to me.... and worth more than its weight in gold. Somehow appropriate.. He's lifted many worlds.... and will continue to lift hearts. Thanks for posting it!
Hi Nan,
This is so sad, but it's great what you are doing here. Your poem was lovely.
Keep well,
Suzanne :)
